Possessive pronominal suffixes:
in the early 1960's, Tolkien revised the meaning of the pronominal suffixes. I show the early meaning in grey.
-nya my
-lya thy (polite); your (plural)?
-tya thy (familiar)
-rya his, her, its
-mma our exclusive our dual
-lma our inclusive our exclusive
-lwa our dual? our inclusive
-lla ? your (plural)?
-nta their
To connect these suffixes to a noun ending in a consonant, the preferred way is to use a connecting vowel: -i- for the first person singular, and -e- for all others. Case and plural markers are added after the pronominal suffix.
Note: I have tried to reconstruct the dual paradimata both in T and in U for almost all entries, as an excercise. Since we know very little about these forms, we can only guess. The dual dative -uen is attested in an old deprecated genitive in -n: Ar-Veruen "the Day of the Spouses".
